A short talk about how we can protect our children online in a fast paced digital world. How we should handle the risk and why do we not just avoid it. I’ll tell you what my research has taught me. Including the dark side of the internet for children and what we can do about it.
we live In a digital world online safety has never been more prevelent. But what about the young people of our future. With school budgets shrinking and IT being hard hit what can we do to protect our cyber future and what does it look like for our childrens futures. I will illustrate to you what I have found researching the internet through the lense of a child and some of the dark things they can face.
I'm young in my industry and keen to learn. I'm a soc analyst who got their job as a result of Bsides Bristol 2023. Every day I learn new things and want to be the person who shares knowledge to the next batch of cyber security professionals. I'm love tech and an cyber security addict, I'm passionate about protecting people online and young persons cyber security education. I recently joined as a governor for cyber security at my childrens school furthering my strive for education. I recently furthered my career after speaking at Bsides 2024 and am continuously looking for ways to share my knowledge.
